Functions of Separator Machines and why they are needed

6922

After going through the process of husking the rice husk, it will produce husks, broken husked rice and a mixture of broken husked rice with unhulled grain. In general, the high or low percentage of unhulled unhulled grain depends on the condition of the grain, rice variety and the condition of the hulling machine. Wet grain conditions will make the grain difficult to peel, otherwise if the grain is too dry then the grain will be easily damaged/broken, therefore optimal drying is necessary and it is recommended to use a dryer.

The condition and performance of the husking machine also need to be considered, the care and replacement of the rubber roll also has a major influence on optimal husking. On the other hand, it is necessary to do a different handling of this because if the grain is carried to the milling machine it will reduce the quality of the rice produced. To handle this, a machine is needed, namely a separator.

The working mechanism of the shaker tray type separator machine that is commonly used uses the principle of the difference in the weight of the grain and broken rice grains. There are several layers/layers that are arranged, with each layer having depressions all over its surface. The driver of this type of separator is an electromotor which rotates with an eccentric shaft so that the layers can sway reciprocally so that the different materials will differ separately.

Brown rice that have a large specific gravity will move up, while grains that have a smaller density will move down. The gaps in the layers/layers serve to hold the brown rice  from the skin down. So that the grain will gather in one section and the brown rice  will collect in another unit. The use of this separator will be maximized if there is a balance between the slope of the layer/layer, the frequency of shaking, the incoming material flow and the thickness of the material above the layer/layer.
